Salaams Parents, Unit 4 Healthy Living/ Physical Literacy Science concepts: 1. Physical Development (dental hygiene, sleep habits, eating, exercising) 2. Emotional Development(friendships with peers, teachers and parents) 3. Academic Development(5 core subjects) 4. Spiritual Development(5 pillars of Islam, Listening to Allah, Salat) Writing workshops personal narratives that relate to mind, body and spirit. Math concepts: 1. Review of time(hour, half hour, quarter after, quarter until and elapsed time) 2. Number Sense (skip counting 1's, 2's,3's, 5's, 10's up to 10,000) then relating it to multiplication. 3. 4 or 5 digit Addition and Subtraction with regrouping. 4. Place Value up to 10,000,000. 5. Introduction of fractions, graphs and measurement Social Studies concepts: 1. Maps skills: key, legends, scales, cardinal directions, locating the community, city, state, country and continent. Writing workshop: personal narratives, small moments, sketch, label, edit,revise and publish. Reading: grammar, conventions,CAFE,Daily 5 and flexible reading groups. Rug work for Science, Math,Social Studies,ELA, Islamics and Arabic.
